costbasis-near-liquidation

Q1. Bitcoin that last moved at a price within 10, 20 or 30% below the market mark, beside the debt in the same liquidation bands. Some dates rest on CoinGecko prices (licence on every value). Descriptive, not a forecast.

Methodology descriptive · CX1 Q1

What it measures. Bitcoin whose cost basis (the price on the day each coin last moved) lies within 10, 20 or 30% below the market mark: the same bands the liquidation map uses for debt.

Calculation. The mark is the mean of each venue's own mark, weighted by the debt bucketed there. The cost-basis distribution comes from our node's pass over every block. Before 2026-10-08 the liquidation map holds the history of one venue alone, so the mark rests on that venue.

Licence. On some dates part of the cost basis is priced from CoinGecko (coins created before 2020-07-13); each value says so. Those values are for free, attributed use only.

Sample. One credit cycle, from 2022-09-19, so it is observational. A descriptive series: not an index, not a forecast and not a signal. Every published version is kept and can be read as known on any date (as_known_on).

What this cannot be read as

Bitcoin whose cost basis (the price of the day each coin last moved) lies within 20% below the market mark, i.e. in [80% of the mark, the mark). The mark is a debt-weighted mean of the venues' own marks (30 venues bucketed that day), not a price any venue liquidates against; HX1's bands measure each venue against its own mark. Before 2026-10-08 the map holds Sky alone, so the band is Sky's (a coverage step on 2026-10-08). Log cost-basis buckets (ratio 1.001) assigned by their geometric midpoint: an error of at most one bucket at each edge. An identity beside the debt in the band, not a reading of what a fall would do. Observational: one credit cycle, from 2022-09-19.
